The role is primarily focused on working alongside the Broadcast Team to support both our broadcast and business infrastructure and Systems to maintain maximum availability of services.

Job purpose

Apply relevant industry best-practice from IT, Broadcast, Telecoms and other operations management sectors to further improve overall service delivery.
Work closely with internal and external parties to help design, implement and configure new systems and solutions
Establish effective working partnerships with key internal and external business partners.
Support or where applicable lead the development of best practice procedures and behaviours, for all activities in order to improve internal and external customer experience.
Ensure 24/7 availability of systems through proactive monitoring
Promote cross-functional working to optimise resource availability
Identify and recommend operational efficiencies within a lean framework.

Required skills

Managing, Designing and Implementing Microsoft Enterprise based server and desktop environments & architectures adhering to best practises whenever possible
Managing and Supporting Microsoft Active Directory Infrastructures [Group Policies, Roaming Profiles etc..]
Managing and Supporting Microsoft Exchange Messaging Environments [SCC, LCR and CCR Clustering] and Blackberry Enterprise server.
Managing and Supporting Microsoft SQL Server Database Services Enterprise deployments [Clustering].
Managing and Supporting Microsoft Business Intelligence solutions (SSIS, SSAS & SSRS + SharePoint)
Deploying, Configuring and Supporting AntiVirus/AntiSpam and Intrusion Prevention/NAP
Configuring, Supporting and Maintaining Cisco based core, aggregation and client multi-layer network Switches [Switchport Config, VLANs, dot1q Trunking, LACP, Access-Lists, and IP routing tables]
Networking based knowledge of IP [TCP and UDP] workings & understanding of network monitoring and packet capturing to aid troubleshooting networking issues
Support of Cisco and Microsoft Based Remote Access solutions [Cisco AnyConnect VPN and Microsoft RRAS] and secure remote access servers (RSA)
Design, Deployment and Supporting of Microsoft Terminal Services and SSL tunnelling [Terminal Services Gateway]
Design, Deployment and Supporting of Windows Hyper-V Virtualisation Platforms
Understanding of IT Disaster Recovery and High Availability principals and strategies
Deployment and Configuration of Microsoft Internet Information Services [FTP, HTTP, SMTP]
