External Communications Manager

At this worldwide provider of online game portals you are responsible for managing all aspects of the company’s PR activities, acting as a main point of contact, defining the strategic PR plan, and then overseeing its implementation.

Tasks and Responsibilities

You develop and implement an integrated communications strategy, comprising of media relations, social networking, and wider online positioning
You determine and place features or stories for maximum online and offline coverage in target markets, developing communicative relationships with internal stakeholders across the company to ensure the most relevant opportunities for positive media coverage are obtained
You ensure the content issued meets the highest of standards and is in line with the company’s values and strategy
You manage the impact of any potential or actual negative media coverage (developing relevant materials for Q&As, speeches, and collateral materials)
You develop long-term and trust-based relationships with relevant journalists, editors, and analysts to ensure we are their first choice for stories and media commentary and coordinate press events
You provide appropriate help and guidance to key internal stakeholders who speak to and deal with the media
You ensure all press cuttings are regularly obtained and distributed to key members of staff and maintain the company’s online press office
You manage the drafting and approval of press releases, support documents, and editorial content with key stakeholders, ensuring these are accurate/factual and sent out on time

And you are?

You have proven experience managing relationships with the press and external agencies internationally. You are goal-oriented, pragmatic, and accurate with a good analytical ability.

You have a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and/or Business
You have experience with Web 2.0
Minimum 5 years experience in public relations in a B2C international market environment
You are an independent team player who is flexible with a strong sense of responsibility
Creative and entrepreneurial spirit
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
